false media

For people like me who don't care much for computers and take years to catch on to new technological advances, the internet can seem like a dark mysterious place.
Information super highway some call it. More like misinformation super highway.
For all the positive and productive things that the internet is useful for there are probably as many or more negative and counterproductive things that exist in this silly world that is held together by cable lines.
One of them being this ridicules new concept called citizen journalism. Citizen journalism!?!?! Could anything sound more anarchistic? You're telling me that I'm supposed turn to Joe Blow from his home computer to stay in touch with current events? The guy has probably been awake for three straight days smoking meth and ranting about how the moon landing was a hoax. If this is really what the world is coming to, becoming a hermit is sounding like a better idea every day.
I used to think that there are were some TV shows that could actually make you stupider if you watched them. Well I now know for a fact that there is a lot of content on the internet that will in fact lower you're IQ. The Newspaper is just such a more intelligent medium. Maybe I'm just not going to the right sites but the things I read online just seem without direction.
Well I'm starting to rant a bit and am becoming exactly the ignorant online voice that I was ridiculing a minute ago. But hey I never said I wasn't a hypocrite.
Oh yea heres an example of some of these desperate fools, http://bayosphere.com/aboutcitizenjournalism
